Matchy matchy in green and red

Here's a Christmascard I made for Simon says stamp. The challenge was to use colour red and green. I bought a whole pack of Christmaspapers a while back and hadn't had a chance to use them so now was the perfect opportunity.

I also worked with a challenge from the promarker challenge. You can use any colours, but you need to have:

3 different shapes (not including the card shape)
2 papers
1 ribbon

I'm not very happy with the way the hÄnglar turn out, but it was fun doing the really "matchy-matchy" image with red and green. I cut out a part of the paper where it said "jolly" and glued on her little sign.

Promarkers used: saffron, cinnamon, burnt sienna, forest green, emerald, berry red and ruby.

Jude's Alzheimer's blogcandy

I want to draw your attention to a candy for a cause at Jude's blog. Since I'm now studying psychology I have read a tiny bit about this disease. I've read more about what happens in the brain on the neural level, but still. I'm sure most of you know what this disease does to someone.

You can help Jude by sending her craftitems for her to sell.

When it comes to the candy: the more people that enter her candy the bigger it will be. So spread the word, not only to get more goodies ;) but to make people aware and let Judy know we care.

Here are the loveliness so far. Candy ends october 29:th.

Here's what she says in her own words:

Yesterday we went to celebrate mum's birthday and good time had by all such a sad and cruel disease .Don't honestly think mum had any clue to what was going on mind. The home had given us alounge and when we entered they had decorated with banners ,birthday cake ,bucks fizz, and lovely spread ,which we didnt expect at all or asked for.
As we were there i got to speak to one of the girls she is the lady who looks after there occupational needs and is trying to raise monies for hydro pool which in turn will help alot of the residence .So they are trying to do alot of fund raising. So when i get back ive promised to make cards and a few altered art items so they can sell to help fund raise .
Im appealing to any crafters who wish to help please email me at; andrewjude45@hotmail.com .
All donations greatly accepted can be from cards to altered art ,decorated note books, jewelery anything that you think they can sell at forth coming fund raising coffee mornings ,bazzars that they have palnned between now and christmas. They are not given enough funding to spend on occupying the residence as it is .This i feel is one thing that Alzheimers patients benefit from having there mind occupied. The lady who is doing this Maureen has some fab ideas but just hasnt got the money to do this out of the budget they are given.
Dont feel you have to, but every thing donated will be truley appreciated and please email me if you think you can help. andrewjude45@hotmail.com
hugs and thanks in advance

Guest diva at Wags 'n whiskers

Wags 'n whiskers is a brand new stampcompany owned by Nikki Fairbairn and Lacey Stephens. Their images are based on their wonderful children and furry pets! Zoe and Danni are Nikki’s beautiful girls with their pets Gemma (the “fat” older cat in the logo) and Bella (Danni’s little kitten). Ansley is Lacey’s sweet daughter with her little Yorkshire Terrior (or Yorkie for short) named Princess. And Ryan is Lacey’s active son with his trusty doggie blanket named BoBo!

On october 9:th there will be a release and bloghop so go and sign up as a follower so you don't miss a thing! I think these stamps are going to be wonderful and a real hit, so I can't wait to see them! The cats on the logo are so full of personality. Can't wait to see the rest!

The company is also looking for a guest diva and I would love to join. I love animalstamps (although I haven't been playing with many lately). I have chosen one card that I'm very happy with, but also an animal one to show that I like to work with those too. I would love to be chosen for the GDT spot, so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me :)

Loves me, loves me not...

Today I have been playing with Molly from my new DT sheet from sweet pea stamps. Molly seems to have a crush on someone and wants to know if he loves her back :D I've been very excited to start colouring her ever since she dropped in my mailbox. I used my new papers and ribbon I got today. One of my local shops that closed a while ago re-opened today and had a 20% off the whole shop. I didn't get much, just some papers and ribbons. I got a tip on how to adhere the ribbons so I picked up some more ribbons. And it worked! Here's my first try on the ribbon with the tape and I'm inheaven. FINALLY it looks professional!

The card is made following a sketch from the sketch saturday challenge blog and the image is coloured with promarkers as always.

I made a bow from the ribbon I used. I used to use a glue, but even though it was supposed to dry clear it left shades on the ribbon. Instead I used the double sided tape I got today. I tried that before, but I did it with broad tape that I cut myself. It always got crooked and didn't work properly. Now I have a thin tape and it's even supposed to work on organza ribbons! It was so much fun working with the ribbon that I think I have found my new favourite embellishment. If you've never tried it you should. Don't be scared of trying, just get yourself a good narrow doublesided tape. THAT'S the secret.

Stamps: Molly and sentiment from sweet pea stamps
Promarkers: ivory, primrose, pastel yellow, forest green, pastel green, turquoise, pastel pink and an old pantone - warm red T (for the flowers)
Papers: making memories, "flower patch"

Here are the wonderful things I got today. Mostly cardstock and ribbons, but also a cute owl stamp, the ribbon tape, some magnetic closings that I will use for my purses and some patterned papers. I got two pretty expensive but oh so irresistable papers.

Both are from die cuts with a view. I know just how I'm going to use this one. Just need a certain stamp...It's called "woodland animals".

This one has glitter on all the details. SOOOO yummy!!! I would like to use it with some house mouse stamp. Think it would look beautifully. It's called "kitchen tea party gltr".

Loving stitches

I started on this card last week and when I looked at it today it still wasn't done (go figure). The deadline is tonight, so I skipped some schoolwork and finished it instead :D
I have incorporated a bunch of challenges in this one:

Following a sketch from friday sketchers. I thought the leaning panel from the sketch would look wonderful as a leaning arrow.
Just magnolia had a colourcombo: pink/grey and optional black.
I also used stitching on this card for the roses on paper challenge.
I was going to post it on the simon says stamp challenge (that also had stitching as their theme) but I missed the deadline :(

Now I'm off to sleep so I can get up for class tomorrow. I did get my Dt package from sweetpea stamps today so I'm guessing there won't be much schoolwork done during the weekend. Saturday is also "cardmaking day" and one of my shops that closed are reopenig again. No rest for the wicked, huh?
Nighty night.

Hopeful

There is a new challenge blog called crafty catz weekly challenge and naturally I had to join in the first challenge (although I don't really have time for cardmaking or the energy)
Anyhow, there was a colourscheme to follow: green/blue/brown. Ok, so not really my colours, but then I came to think of these gorgeous papers from K&co that I had extras of and they were just the right colours!

I made it following a sketch from this week's Whiff of joy challenge blog. This week is special because the blog are celebrating their first blogoversary on saturday and a party is promised :)! Woohooo! Doesn't Charlotte look like she's ready to celebrate?
I'm still hoping Katharina will discover me some day, lol, so what better way than to enter as many Woj challenges as possible.

I'm actually quite happy with this card. Lately I haven't been so I was afraid I would ruin this one too, but I think it turned out quite well. I used a charm that says "hope" instead of a stamped text. Not sure if it fits the card, but it does fit the challenge :) I finally dared to use a white pen to highlight some details like her hair and skirt. My first try, but I think it looks good.

Promarkers used: ivory, pastel blue, cool aqua, pastel green, moss, cinnamon, burnt sienna and umber.
Papers: K&co

Brown panel embossed with cuttlebug embossing folder.

Paper piecing birthday card

Aaaah, I've been taking yesterday and today off and it feel so good :) Yesterday I started on a lot of cards (5 of them I think) so today I thought I'd finish at least one of them.

I made a card using a technique called paperpiecing. If you've never tried you should! It's quite fun and very easy. I've made a fast little tutorial that will be up on the sweet pea stamps blog tomorrow (sunday).

I've made the card for colour create. Their colourscheme for this week was: hot pink, dusky pink and ice chocolate. Thought these papers from Basic Grey worked superb.

Back tomorrow hopefully with more cards.
