Today I finished a card I've been working on during the week. It's a friendship card using black white and silver from the stamptacular sunday challenge. I used a sketch from a DT call at simply scrapping. I'm not sure if I will apply, but I got really inspired to combine these two challenges together. Think it turned out quite well and very different from everything I've been doing lately. I think it shows my style pretty well, at least how it used to be before I got influenced by all bloggers :)

Hey gorgeous

Have you seen that Katharina - the owner of Whiff of joy has a guest design call? She will be having a new call every other month. You can read all about it on her blog. This time she wanted us to follow a sketch.

One of my new year's resolution is actually to get on the team or at least be a guest designer for Whiff of joy so it is great timing. I will have 6 chances to join this year. Ok, on to my card.

I used papers from a pad that I just fell inlove with. I saw it on a blog somewhere and wanted to get it. I googled it and it was just one place that had them. And they just had 4 pads left, so I got 2, lol. This pad and BG's eskimo is my fav line of all times. I just adore the colourcombo and the patterns are gorgeous. I'm actually saving the rest of the pads for a project that I will keep, like a travelalbum. I got so inspired to use it straight away though and what better reason than a DT call?

I used autumn Charlotte that I got before Christmas. I got 16 stamps from Whiff of joy which I haven't had the chance to use yet. She was the one I wanted to use first since Charlotte&Charlie and the animals drawn by Alison Acton are my favourites. She's also dressed the way I dress so it was fun colouring her. She's me if I would be a cartoon :)

The bird is made using a qk die, CB embossing folder, a flower cut apart and the petals glued on the tail. The pink border is cut out twice with a spellbinder borderabilities and glued opposite eachother.

Charlotte is coloured with my beloved promarkers. I think I did very well colouring her.

I used dimensional glaze and bling on some flowers I cut out from one of the patterned sheets.

I forgot to say that I'm also adding this card to this week's challenge at Simon says stamp with "punch it" as their theme and charismacardz with "fruity colours" as theirs.

Hi and happy "little saturday" as wednesdays are called here in Sweden.
I've been working on several cards at the same time lately and yesterday I managed to finish one of them.

I used the colourcombo pink/grey from this week's cute card thursday challenge. I used a part of a house mouse called a spring tail - HMOR1129.  The stamp was one of my latest buys and I love how versatile it is. You get several stamps in one. The paper I used fit the theme at house mouse challenge: "faux grid". I didn't find any sketch that I thought worked so I freestyled. I wanted the silver branch to stand out so this is what I came up with. It's a slightly different card coming from me, but I love the simplicity. When you have beautiful papers - make them do the work :)

Promarkers: ivory, satin, baby pink, dusky rose, antique pink, ice grey1 and 3, blender.
Papers: paperpad "I do" from making memories and pink paper MME Wild asparagus "Pretty little girl".
Other: nestabilities blossom and circle, letter stickers, silver pen.

Happy Thanksgiving

Here is a card that took forever to make. I had decided to use a sketch from sketch saturday. Since Tilda was quite big I had a hard time fitting the text and embellishments. Phew, took a while, but here it is. I'm quite happy how it turned out. I used some of my new "toys" - the swirly vine, primas, scrolly frame and nesties. The papers are from Wild asparagus and Basic Grey. And of course the image is coloured with my faithful promarkers. I wrote the text by hand with marsh green. Think it might've been prettier with a computer generated taxt, but I didn't have the energy to fuss with that. Don't think I have that bad of a handwriting, lol.

This card is also made with a couple of other challenges in mind:
Simon says stamp had "shabby chic" and Magnolia down under had an interesting challenge: "stamp with another use". This means that you use a stamp from say a Christmas line and use it in a birthday card. I used an easter stamp and made it into a Thanksgiving one. Thought it was quite brilliant. At least I think the stamp is from an easter line. I don't know really since it's hard to find the info. In worst case this was a Thanksgiving stamp and I should've made an easter card from it :)

Hot chocolate

Hi there. For the last few days I've been working on this card. It's quite simple, but elegant. I wanted the beautiful glittery paper to stand out so I used a simple sketch from our creative corner. I also used the colourcombo from colour throwdown and charisma cardz. Cute card thursday had "something new" as their theme. Everything on this card is new, the house mouse stamp, new papers, ribbons and even new scalloped nesties. Simon says stamp had "hot chocolate" as their challenge as did quixotic paperie. Finally crafty calendar's challenge "keeping warm".

The dotty ribbon had white dots, but I coloured them pink with a pink promarker. That way you can get your own custom made ribbon without buying a specific ribbon for every occasion. That's my tip of the day.

Relax and (sun)shine

Hi and welcome back to my blog. Today I managed to finish a card for a couple of challenges. The first one is Basic Grey that had a colour challenge of pink, blue and cream. I used these beautiful papers from the "eskimo" line. This is by far my fav line from BG. I used a stamp from house mouse and added a sentiment from imaginisce. It fits the theme "on the beach" for the house mouse challenge blog. I also used a sketch from get sketchy and "layering" from ABC challenge.

I wasn't too thrilled about how the card turned out, but I'm quite happy with the positioning of the image. It kind of looks like the mouse is sailing on the patterned paper. If you squint a lot, lol.

I also got some more goodies from a cherry on top that I ordered during a Thanksgiving sale. It was well needed since I got a mail today that made me quite sad. No reason to get jealous about the goodies though, I'm not keeping all of it and some of it I've already put in a candy box :) I just need to get myself together and organize the darn thing. I'm planning on having it done by my birthday and think I will have a special prize for those that send me a card for my 30:th b-day. I'm all alone in this town with my fiancée - no family or friends so it gets lonely on b-days. Maybe you will cheer me up? ;) More of that later. First I need to get totally well and start on my DT commitments. Ta ta for now.

Sugar bowl challenge

Here's my card for this week's challenge over at the sugarbowl blog. It's a sketch challenge and "something new". Everything on this card is new. I got the stamp a while ago, but haven't been able to use it and the papers I got at a sale after Christmas. They are from Imginisce and have wonderful glitter on them.

Love doodle ATC

While being away for Christmas I just had a couple of stamped images and my promarkers with me. I still wanted to join in the challenges and this is what I came up with. I doodled the sketch from the whiff of joy challenge. Can't say it's the prettiest thing I've ever done, but it was surprisingly fun to do. I think I will try this more times.

My top 10 from 2009

Quixotic paperie are having a mystery blogcandy. What you need to do is make a post showing your best card from 2009. Hurry because it ends tonight 5:th at midnight GMT.

I had a hard time deciding so I made a top 5 instead with the fav card on top. I like it the most because I made the rings/buttons myself instead of using the usual flowers as decorations. It was also one of my first brownish cards - not a colour I use a lot.

EDIT: I've uploaded 5 more cards to make it my top 10 instead. The reason I'm doing this is to be in a challenge over at the JP hobby blog.

 

Looking at these cards you would think I'm a huge Magnolia fan, lol. I started getting them as late as about 8-9 months ago and actually don't have more than 15 stamps. But it seems like they give me a lot of inspiration.

Now I look forward to making even better cards and progressing more in 2010!
