Auction for breast cancer research - "the pink ribbon" - rosa bandet

I have given away two of my handmade items to a swedish craftforum (kind of like splitcoast stampers) to help them raise money for breastcancer research. I thought the pink bunnyheart would be perfect for the "theme" and the little angelearrings too.

You only have one day (until 8pm GMT+1) to bid on the items and tonight they are putting up my "bunnyheart" and on the 25:th my angelearrings.

I really hope they will get a lot of bids!

You will be able to find the link HERE under the second section called "trådar". The newest auctions are put on top.
Here's the direct link for the bunny:

Hope you're having a great day. I felt like I had to join in on some of the challenges and then realized:
A: I don't have the time
B: I have some extra DT stuff to make (watch out, there will be stuff happening on the sweetpea blog)
C: I need to sew some things for my friend that visits next friday - eek
D: I need to study for my exam next friday so I don't have to pull all-dayers next week.
E: I'd actually rather sew, study or do the DT things instead.

So no surprises in form of cards today :)

Sugar bowl pink Christmas

Today I finished a card for the sugar bowl blog. The challenge was a great sketch and to make a Christmas or wintercard.

I had just gotten this stamp in the mail - a candy I won in september. I thought she would fit perfectly for paperpiecing. I wanted the card to be pink and girly - breastcancer month and all - and found these cute Christmaspapers in my stash. I decided to go totally over the top with these cluttered papers. I didn't hold back, lol. Think it turned out quite well after all. Today and yesterday I just played so much with my stash and surprised myself with the outcome both times.

I hope you had a good day today. I need to start on a gift for my friend that will visit me next friday. I want to sew her a bag and make her a necklace. I have everything ready and know how it is supposed to look. Now I just need to get started. And I have another exam coming up - next friday too!

Hopefully I'll be showing you some sewing and jewelryprojects soon. I need to make her a b-day card too so I'm not cutting you off totally :D

Promarkers: ivory, primrose, ruby and apple

Time for the royal blog hop

Hello and welcome again to the queen kat designs bloghop. If you've hopped from Ashley's blog then you're on the right track. If not, go to the qkd blog and start from the beginning.

The theme for this week's hop as you probably know by now was orange, purple, white and black. While craftshopping yesterday I came across this beautiful rock/guitar paper that had just the right colours. And the best part: it was on sale, lol.
The image is another cutie from the huggable lil monsters. I also used three of the cupcakes from the cupcake friends stampset. I got it as a digiimage as part of my DT package so I was able to make them smaller.

I had no clue how this card would turn out but as I started working with it it made itself and I felt so creative! I cut out part of the patterned paper with a guitar with my oval nestie. Then I put glitterglue over it. I coloured and cut out the little monster and glued it over the guitar to make him look like he's playing it. I thought he suited perfectly since it almost looks like he has some kind of goth/rock make-up around his eyes. You can just see how he's pulling the strings so to speak :)
I also coloured and cut out the little cupcakes and put dimensional glaze over the frostings. I punched out black circles and glued the cupcakes on them. The orange panel is bling cardstock which I embossed. I glued on a piece of ribbon (also one of my finds yesterday) and tied a black one around it. Some of the coloured straps were actually lime instead of orange so I used my orange promarker to change them.

The word is cut out with qk alphabet "Melissa" in silver mirror card. Finally I glued it all together and put two black buttons in the corner. Ta daa! There you have it.

I made this card following a sketch from the Simon say stamp challenge blog.
It also fitted the "buttons and bling" theme at the humble pie challenge and the "bling it" theme at stampchallenges.
I think it turned out fabulous. It was a lot of fun to make since I didn't think this was my style! It's fun when I manage to surprise myself :)

So now you've reached the end of the hop. I'm sure you are just drooling to get your hands on some of these stamps. I know I am. I want to get myself a bunch of mermaid stamps but don't know which ones to choose! I have so many favourites. I also like the different manga inspired ones. There are two fabulous vampire stamps - perfect for Halloween!

Exam is over and blogcandy

There wil be no projects to show you today. Didn't you have enough during the weekend? :)
Today I had my exam and I've been quite pooped after I got home. It's not humane having an exam at 8am, lol. I had to get up after 6. I'm a nightowl so I usually go to bed around 1-2am and get up noonish it was a challenge to get up and be alert enough to write stuff.

After the exam I went to a craft outlet store and treated myself with some small goodies: a few papers, ribbons and an organizer for 30x30" papers that I hope will help me sort my mess. I sometimes have matching papers and cardstock and a coloured image, but I don't always feel like putting together a card. So I have those papers on my table, add another potential card and then it grows...Now with the organizer I have 8 compartments I think. When I need to make a card but don't feel like colouring and matching papers I can just take a look there. I think it will be a great idea.

Now for the candy:

Katharina - the owner of Whiff of joy - is giving away a brand new winterkit to one lucky winner. If you don't dare waiting to see if you won the candy you can pre-order the kit until october 23:rd. Just click HERE to order it. Candy ends 22:nd.

Now I'm off to read a little more. I have class tomorrow. No rest for the wicked :)

Sweet (pea) Christmas

I needed a break from studying today so I made a Christmascard for a couple of challenges. I used stamps from my DT kit from sweetpea stamps. If you like these stamps then you should check out the new ones that are available for preorder. This company is really blooming and Lynette is coming up with more and more beautiful stamps every time. I can't wait to tell you about the next release, but you'll have to wait a while longer for that. These are not the ones I used for my card. You can see the ones I used at the bottom of this page. It's sheet number 12.
Have you gone and voted for your favourite yellow/red/blue card by the way on the sweetpea blog?

So the card is made following a sketch at Christmas and birthday cards. I flipped it on the side.
I used a colourcombo of turquoise, brown/black and sand beige from color throwdown. Never thought I'd use this combo especially for a Christmascard, but I took on the challenge and even had papers to match!
Other blogs that had Christmas as theme are:
creative inspirations
stamp with Sarah Kay
and Marga has Christmas as a challenge to be in her candy.

Creative card crew had scallops as their challenge.

I never would've guessed that this card would turn out so good. I just coloured the images a little, cut them out with my nesties and glued it all together. That's really how it all went down. Sometimes it takes me forever with a card and it's not even half as nice. Good thing it didn't take too long because I really don't have time for this, lol.
