Love-ly card and blogcandy!

I have finally been able to play a little with my new stash. For this card I used a Sarah Kay stamp (I just knew it had to be my first SK the second I saw it), some new papers and my new red distress pad to make the swirls and tattered rose on the edges of the image. Oh, and I used my crackeling medium on the "adore" letters.

I made this card using a sketch from sketchsaturday DT call sketch. The time has run out an I will apply with this card for the spot. I hope they think it's innovative enough.

I'm also linking it up on the Charisma card challenge blog. This week's theme is SWIRLS, CURLS (with the added extra hearts) Doesn't this card just fit the criteria perfectly? I love my little swirly heart dies. I couldn't decide on which size to take so I bought them both thinking I would use them in this exact way. They are actually two seperate hearts, I just cut the small one open and attached it to the bigger one. Aren't I the smartest cookie ever, lol?

I used my promarkers as usual. I love the way the colours match the papers. I'm quite happy with how the scalloped border turned out. I used my scalloped scissors and then punched holes to make the decorative edge. My fiskar's border punches have given up so I need to be creative. I wonder if I can write to fiskars and get the borderpunches exchanged or something. Does anyone know?

Now on to the candy: the sweet pea blog are having a wonderful Christmas candy. You can win the new set of stamps and a whole sheet of sentiments. They are so new that not even the DT have layed their inky paws on them :)
The sooner you link up the blog the more entries you get, so spread the word and keep your fingers crossed. Ends 7:th.

My latest loot - my first Whiff of joys!

I wanted to share with you what I bought lately. First I managed to find a blog of a woman named Michelle that also has a store. She had great prices and also had a 20% off so it was even better! As you may know I've been dieing to get some Whiff of joys (and especially the Alison Acton ones. I think I have a crush on Charlie, lol) Michelle had the "maid Charlotte" one that's been on top of my list. I also like the Elisabeth Bell one with basket so I got that one too. And some other things got into the shoppingcart...
I'm very excited about the distress inks. I only have the tea dye and I like to work with it. Now I finally had the chance to get some of the other colours.
I can really recommend Michelle. Check out her store here:

www.michellesscrap.com

If you shop, tell her I sent you :)

My second package arrived today from onestopcardcraft.co.uk. They had a 25% off when I shopped so I got some items...I wanted the popcorn bears for a while and was so happy when I could buy them for about £4,5! I also got some Christmas and birthday papers. But I'm so disappointed with the bears. They are not at all the size shown on the sheet. The bear with the presentpile is actually about 4"! That is waaay too big for a normal sized card. I'm so disappointed with that. There's not much freedom to add embellishments unless you want the card to be huge. You can always use part of the stamp, but then the cute duck won't show. Such an anti-climax :( The whole afternoon has been like that for me today, yuck! The other bearstamps are huge too. The ones with the snowmen are about 4x3" Is it an english thing? I thought americans liked it big, lol. The only thing I'm actually happy about is the crackeling glossy accent (if it works that is, haven't tried it yet)
One thing that I'm extatic about is the snowflake punch I got today at a sale. It was about $4 and I got the poochie brads for free too.

Last but not least I got some fabrics last week. Brown is not my colour, but I couldn't resist these patterns. They work so well together and I can see some make-up bag with the bigger pattern on the outside and the smaller as a lining. I also got half a yard of the birdie fabric. It was just too cute.
I didn't find that many fabrics that I really really liked so I'm planning on buying them from the net in the future. The birdie fabric was an exception though. I would love to sew a case for my dayplanner out of it, but I don't know how. I think I need to ask one of the sewing wizards or maybe if you know how I should do it, let me know.

(The fabrics aren't really that shiny. The flash from the camera makes them a bit too glowy.)

Can't wait to start playing with my goodies. But I have to plan my time. I started school this week and I need to focus on my reading. But we can all use a break from time to time, right? And besides, there are some fab challenges and DT calls out theere that I just can't miss :)

Doxie woof

Dachshunds are my absolute fav breed of dogs. I had one growing up and she was my best friend. I was devestaded when she died and haven't had a dog since.
I've been looking for a doxie stamp for years that shows off the breed's personality. I hadn't found one until the other week. This is a stamp drawn by a woman that makes the stamps herself. She sells them on Tradera which is Sweden's equivalent to ebay. When I saw this stamp I just had to have it. Unfortunately I missed the auction and somebody else got the stamp. Eeeeek! But I contacted the woman and she had one left. Phew. I grabbed it before she could change her mind, lol. I'm never letting this little stamp go, that's for sure. Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen?

I made this card using a sketch from the midnight madness challenge blog that I rotated. I'm always missing this challenge, but now I have added it to my challenge list so hopefully I'll join more often. I used a calender die from quickutz to mount the image on. The tab works as an embellishment and I wrote "woof" on it. Thought it was quite clever. I also added a boneclip and pawprint decoration to the card. The swirls are also from qk (from the sophisticate alphabet box). Papers are the same as I used for the sugar nellie fox card.

Follow you dreams...to Paris

In case you had a doubt: I just LOVE the eiffel tower stamp from plate #6 from sweet pea stamps. I also managed to ask Lynette for this set with sentiments in my DT package. I think it's a brilliant set! I haven't seen sentiments like this anywhere else. You get so many different ones for a very low price, especially with the "buy one get one for free" deal that is on now in the shop. You have to check it out. The texts are perfect for those square 6x6" cards. That's the size of my card below.

I stamped my image with versamark ink and rubbed different chalks on it. Then I edged it with a gold pen and layered on a red panel. I stamped the sentiment directly on a red card with versamark and sprinkled gold embossing powder on top. The reason I used versamark and not a goldpad is because in case it gets wrong it doesn't show. I can just heat the ink (so it dries) and stamp again. That way the embossingpowder doesn't get stuck to the first stamping.

It's such a simple yet elegant card. I love this stamp and think it's sooo versatile. I have some more ideas for it, but for that I need a special Tilda...Those Magnolia stamps are really sticking to me :D I never would've thought. Hope you've enjoyed it :)

I made this card for a sketch challenge called sketch and stash. You need to use your new stash and the new things I've used for this card is the sentiment stamp and the red/brown glittery brad I purchased on a sale last week. Oh, and the papers are new too.
