Candy for a cause

ChrisaBella is having a candy to cheer up her mom. She asks you to send her mom a card and everyone who does will be in a "surprise" candydraw. So if you have an extra card make sure to send it before the end of the week. I've sent her this card that I think is elegant:

Unfortunately I didn't have any better pics :(

Stamp with fun - a "me" card

Stamp with fun is a new challenge blog that just started today with their first challenge. The challenge was a great sketch, so I decided to join. I promised myself to try and do cards that were more "me" and although I did follow a sketch I managed to make the card my style. I used a flocked flower brad that I got in the mail today - a blogcandy I won.

Thanks for looking and maybe you'll have a go at the new challenge blog?

Sewing and quilting

I'm so glad I named my blog "the confessions of a crafter" and not "stamper" since I keep jumping around in crafts. I guess I'm impatient because my latest addiction is...
quilting. Well, maybe not quilting, but sewing.

After buying a couple of Tilda fabrics (that I showed you before) I have been really eager to sew a square patterned bag. Kind of like the blue doggie card I made: different patterned squares put into one.
So my friend in the US knows how to quilt and I tried to pick her brain, but it's hard writing and explaining some things. Although she did a great job because I understood everything. I hope she did too, lol.

Anyhow, I went to a big sewingstore a bit outside town to buy some pieces of fabrics for my small projects and there they had a good price on a cutting mat, rotary cutter and an acrylic ruler. So I picked them up (and a whole bunch of fabrics.) Aren't they just lovely? I actually got a comment from a customer that the fabrics I had chosen made her happy and cheerful.

This is the cutting"mat" and rollerknife and ruler I had before. I think it will be sliiightly easier having a bigger mat that I don't have to move the fabric on all the time.

I actually tried the mat, ruler and cutter yesterday when I needed to make a hem on a small skirt. It was so much fun! I already know how to cut straight lines. Now I just need to learn the rest of it and I'll be quilting squarebags in notime :)

Here's what I had in mind:

Tildas vänner quiltbag
Buttonberry tote bag

No wonder I never get around to buying the nestabilities and stamps I want. But now they are actually on sale, so I HAVE to pick them up before they go out of stock again...

Whimsy DT call

EDIT: I actually didn't apply to the DT. I changed my mind in the last minute after properly reading through the rules. I just have one Whimsy stamp and I didn't think it would be fair to get chosen and just show cards with one image.

I got a tip once that I shouldn't bend backwards to join a DT but it should be the style and types of stamps I have and like using. So I'm still on a lookout for a DT team. But before that I think I need to figure out what my style is. I've developed enormously these 6 months that I've had a blog, but now I feel like I'm stuck. The challenges and the bloghopping I do influence mt e too much. I think I need to stop looking at other cards and make a card my way, like I used to, but with the extra development :)

Whimsy stamp challenges are having a DT call and here's what I'm applying with. It's some of the cards I'm happy with. There might be older ones that I'm more proud of, but I thought I'd apply with something more recent :)
