Basket of flowers

I made this card following a sketch from the sunday sketch and stamp. It was pretty basic and since there is a GDT spot at stake I thought I'd make it a bit more advanced. Usually when I try to do that I totally fail, but with this card I think I naied it! LOL.

I'm so extremely happy about the colouring. I get a nice comment about my colouring skills almost every time and I'm quite happy with how I colour, but I think this time I took it to a whole new level! I adore this stamp, it's from Whiff of joy and one of my first ones. I knew I wanted it the first time I saw a sneak peak of it. Finally it's mine :)

I wanted the image to be in focus so I didn't add any embellishments. I just sewed around the edge and used the patterned papers. The card is single, the message goes on the inside of the two panels.

Hope you liked it :)

promarkers used:
cool grey2, cool grey5, slate, lavender, blossom, pastel pink, rose pink, saffron, pastel green and cornflower. I also used a aquarell pencil to add to the sleeve and bottom of blouse (hopefully) making it look like sheer fabric.
I used so many colours because I needed to mix pastel pink and rose pink to get her shirt in the exact nuance, same thing with the purples and blues. I like the way the pants look - both colours show through making them resemble fabric more.

Magnolia snowman

10 minutes left to the deadline of the just magnolia challenge blog! I knew I had to use this sketch as soon as I saw it. I got the snowman stamp and some papers last friday and the card just appeared to me as soon as I saw the sketch. I wanted to use my new snowflake punch for the circles and the rest is history :)

Here it is. I love this stamp - it was my favourite from the start but it took me so long to get it. Finally it's mine, mwahaha!
I liked the papers although they are a bit uncharacteristic for me. I mean blue and brown? So not my thing, but I'm open to challenges.

Happy birthday Heidi!

Heidi - the generous sponsor of many many challenges from Simon says stamp is celebrating her birthday this week. She was hoping that 200 people would join on the challenge blog in but the DT members were hoping that all 557 followers would. I don't know how it's going since thedeadline is tomorrow and I'll probably be no 140.

Anyhow, I made this card to celebrate Heidi following a sketch on the Simon says stamp challenge blog. I also followed a colour combo on the colour create challenge blog. Heidi is actually sponsoring this week's prize there too!
The challenge was to use the colours ruby, cream and gold. Although it was quite hard I found the most perfect papers for the colour and image for the sketch. Everything is new. The papers I bought friday on my big paperspending day and the popcornbear I bought a couple of weeks ago at a sale (seems like I only shop on sales, lol. It makes a hole in the pocket too, believe me. There seem to be offers and sales everywhere on the net!)

I wasn't sure how red the ruby should be so the colours are "rubish" (not rubbish, lol) The thicker letters on the text are in gold, but it doesn't show properly. A little bit simpler card. Thought I needed it after yesterday's layers and layers. Still getting used to that. It was so nice to relax and make a card although today I really shouldn't have. Although I study 5 hours a day I feel a little behind. Today I just could focus and didn't study as much. Guess I should've taken the weekend off instead of studying there too, haha.

Hope you've enjoyed it :)

Apples in the fall

Last friday I went to a nearby stampstore to pick up a magnolia stamp I had bought at a sale over the net. Since I already have free busrides for the whole month I thought I'd save on the shipping (that actually ate the sale savings). So I went to the store and instead of saving the 12sek in shipping (about $2) I left 429 sek poorer, lol. They had a special sale on patterned papers (they needed to make room for the news coming in) and naturally I wanted to help them out ;) I also picked up 2 extra magnolias because they were ridiculously cheap and I liked them both.

I've actually started to shop smart lately. I pick out 2-3 patterned papers that match and lately I've started to get matching cardstock at the same time. Here's an example with the little kit I used for my card today:

I think I'm actually going to store my papers together like this. Right now I have them sorted in cardstock and patterned, but this will make it easier to find matching cardstock and not use up the right colour when making other cards.

Ok, enough with the rambling :D
I made a card for the sugar bowl blog. The challenge was using a sketch and buttons on your card. I've been wanting to join this challenge, but haven't had the time to finish it. Now with the deadline approaching I needed to get it done. I had so much fun with this card. I wanted to use the papers and make a more "autumny" card. The girl with apples fitted that criteria perfectly. I made the buttons by punching out circles and holes in them.
The paper isn't really what I normally use and it took strength not to add any glitter, lol. But I fell inlove with it when I saw it and think I'm going to use more of the distressed/dirty look more often.

Promarkers used: amethyst, aubergine, poppy, saffron, terracotta, umber, cornflower and marsh green.

Thanks for looking and thank you everyone about the nice comments about my colouring skills. They really warm my heart :)

New card

I'm so swamped today. School started this week and I had some catch up reading to do this weekend. I made a card for the sweet pea blog today. If you want to check it out follow the link. I really need to go to bed since I need to get up 6.30, yikes! I'm a nightowl so going to bed at 2am and getting up around 11 is much better for me :)

I have a card planned so hopefully I will have more time to craft tomorrow.
Hope you had a nice weekend and thanks for stopping by.

PS. Don't forget the blogcandy at the sweet pea blog.
