Whiff of joy DT call

Phew, with about a couple of minutes to spare I made the deadline for the Whiff of joy DT call. I wasn't going to participate because I didn't get any WOJ images until yesterday. My dear friend sent me some and I thought it would be too late, but I felt so inspired to color some of them in and once I started I couldn't stop. I love the Charlotte and Charlie stamps.

I had a lot of fun doing this card. I didn't want to go with the usual shabby look of Basic Grey papers, but I wanted to do something different. I took out the fushia and blue/green of the patterned paper. I also cut away the cat that is sitting next to the girl to make her fit within the frame. The frame is a die from qk cut in white bling cardstock and then made darker with a distress ink. Lately I've been using my jewelry items for my cards and I thought the beads would look wonderful as Christmas ornaments. The blue/green part is embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder and the girl is colored with alcoholmarkers. The handwarmer is flocked with white flock, it looks so furry and warm :)
Hope you like it.

If you would like this stamp or any of the other great ones that Katharina is selling, go to www.whiffofjoy.com She has a bunch of specials and a flat rate shipping of only €1.30 within europe (until dec. 21:st). And you haven't missed her adventcalendar I hope? Every day you have a chance to win some of the wonderful stamps. Don't miss out! You can find all the info on her webpage.

No patterned paper - Penny Black challenge

A happy card without using patterned papers. I stamped the blue circles with a round stamp in different shades of blue. The image is colored with twinkling h2o-like colors.

Plainly speaking - no patterned papers challenge + celebration time

A card without any patterned papers for this week's challenge at scrummystashcafe. The image is an old PSX. I got some images in a swap years ago and found it the other day - already colored in and with glitter on. I have a whole box of colored images because some days I just feel like coloring and some days I assemble the cards. I have been very bad at actually stamping, which I actually think (or have thought) is the most fun. I've been so impressed with Tim Holtz blog lately. Have you seen his tags?! He made the same thing last year and they were just as amazing. I can't comprehend how he can come up with some of the stuff. I really want to develop a style like his, but I'm such a perfectionist. I can't have something dirty or shabby, lol. I bought some alcohol inks a few months ago, so I'm out of excuses I guess.

I had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating my 10:th anniversary with my love. He came home with take-out pasta from a wonderful italian place (homemade italian pasta, yum!) and our fav. pastries. I wasn't feeling too well so we stayed home until it was time for the movies in the evening. We saw a "romantic" movie: "twilight". I really liked it. We also got applause from the other movievisitors and the cinema gave us a DVD and congratulated us. Afterwards we went to our fav. restaurant that serves steak on a plank with mashed potatoes and bearnaisesauce. So gooooood.

I have apreciated your comments about what to get a man, they are always so hard to shop for. (If you want tips look at the comments under the blogcandy). My man is not much of a "stuff" person, but he is a total chocolate addict. He eats so much more than me, lol. So I got him a set from our specialty chocolateshop: chilitruffles, chili hot cocoapowder and a chocolatebutter for pancakes etc. He loved it! Chilitruffles are his favorite and this kind was very yummy apperantly.

If you've never tried truffles or chilitruffles you should. Can't say I love it, but it's worth trying because it's such a different experience.

Ok, so here's the card. The ribbons are actually outside of the card. I think it looks great. Simple, but festive and elegant because of all the glitter on the image. And of course, my cuttlebug embossingfolders. How did I ever manage to make cards without it, haha.

Cuttlebug lovers

If you have one and you love using it, why not join the weekly challenges that are held at cuttlebugchallenge? They are not hard and if you own at least one die you can join (yeah, right, like there's anyone with a CB that has just ONE die, lol).

I haven't actually joined the challenges yet, I've been too focused on my Chrismascards, but as soon as things calm down after the holidays I will join. If you have read my blog for a while you know I love joining the challenges. Such a great way to kick yourself in the you-know-what and getting things done. I always need a deadline, although I can get too pressured by it sometimes. This is supposed to be a relaxing hobby and I'm trying to keep a good balance between being too lazy and an overachiever ;)

Lilac card and followers

A couple of days ago I got my first follower- without threats or anything, lol. One day later I had three, then two more and today the number increased to six! I'm so happy that anyone would actually want to subscribe to my blog. I don't care what reasons you have - if it's to keep track of all the candy, find new challengeblogs, or - dare I say it - you actually LIKE my blog. I'm so happy about it! When I started my own candy I was thinking about having "add me as a follower" as one of the rules. I'm glad I didn't though, because I wouldn't have known that there are people that want to read my blog and not just add themselves as followers for the candy.
Thank you all "fans" for making my day!

I haven't been cardmaking that much this week, mostly because I've been preparing for tomorrow (or actually today since it's waaaay past midnight). I wanted to enter a Basic Grey DT call that was supposed to end tomorrow. I had everything colored and done, just needed to assemble it, but when I went to the BG challenge the DT call was closed. I didn't even have the energy to get annoyed. I will finish the card later, but won't be able to show it to you until X-mas. I have some friends that are lurking around here and I want them to be wowed by the real thing when I send them the card.

However, I did finish a pair of beautiful earrings I made for myself for tomorrow.
I'll show them to you after the love of my life has seen me in them. I hope you will be having a great thursday - I know I will despite the horrible rain/snow mush. Yuck!

Here's a better photo of my card for the cutecardthursday lilac challenge. I'm very much into coloring around the image to make them pop. I used a warm tone for this one. I actually don't have that light shades among my alcoholmarkers, but I'm using my Tombows for this and it works great, don't you think?

My first own blogcandy!

THIS CANDY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING :)

I'm celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my fiancée on thursday dec. 4:th! And what better way to celebrate than to let you all share the love by offering some blogcandy! The theme of this candy will - of course - be LOVE, to celebrate us and just in time for Valentine's. There are some rules though, so pay attention ;)

The candy starting out is a PB clear hedgiestamp+text. For every person that joins I will add something (within reason) so the more you spread the word the bigger the candy will be. Love gets bigger the more you share it, right?! You can earn an extra entry if you write about someone else's candy or a DT call. It has to be a new candy or DT call though, (nothing I or any of the other participants has written about.)

Here's what you need to do:

1. Make a NEW post on your blog writing only about this candy. Make sure to mention that it is to celebrate my 10:th anniversary and that the more people that join the bigger the candy will be (I hope I'm not in over my head here, lol) If you don't have a blog you can join too, let's spread the love.

2. Leave a comment under this post linking back to your blogpost. If you want an extra entry write about someone else's candy or DT call (that hasn't already been mentioned)

3. (optional) Write a suggestion on what to do to celbrate, what to get eachother, any other tips you might have. Boys are so hard to shop for!

Make a comment under this post ONLY if you want to join the candy (leave just one comment so it's easier for me to draw a winner later. If you want to leave another comment then please erase your old one, thank you). I have decided to leave the candy open a couple of days extra, so it will close on january 4:th, exactly one month after our 10:th anniversary. I will draw the winner shortly after that. The winner needs to contact me within a week or I will draw a new winner...Come back from time to time to see if the candy has grown :)

Spread the word and good luck!

EDIT Here's what I have found in my stash so far. Don't know if it looks that impressive, but it's a little of everything you might need for your Valentine cards; brads, shapes, eyelets etc. I also added two extra UM stamps and will look if I have some nice ribbons too (don't hold your breath on that one though ;)
I'm planning on enclosing some paper-things too, maybe some cuttlebugshapes etc. I guess you'll have to wait and see what I come up with.

Everything will be sent in a lovebag (not done by me, so I can't take the credit):

I know a lot of you are fans of the hÄngar stamps, so I'm sending some love-images from that line and also from Penny Black.

This week's candy, without the need of a dentist ;)

I have found a loohooot of candy that ends this week. I will put it all down here on this post. By the way - I managed to win another candy! Can you believe it? Out of around 300 I won a stampin' up set. It was Heather than generously offered 3 extra prizes for the 2-4 winners. Check out her blog.
It seems that the bigger the entries the more likely I win, so make sure to join this candy, lol. Here goes:

frugalmommyof2girls is giving away a beautiful diaperbag from Layla Grayce. My family has just grown with a new baby and this would be great as a gift for the parents.

frugalmommyof2girls has another candy ending this week. It's the cutest grey bunny you've ever seen! So simple, but so adorable. Go and have a look.

Joanne has a fabulous forever friends stampset in her blogcandy. Hurry and join it before it ends!

Frances has two prizes on her candy, so even the runner-up gets something. The best part is that the first winner can choose which of the two prizes she wants...

Katharina, the owner of Whiff of joy is having an adventcalendar. Write a comment and post about her calendar on your blog. Every day after 00.01GMT she will announce the winner and a new window. Isn't that generous of her?!

Bev is having a great loot to give to a lucky winner. There are over 200 entries already, but I'm optimistic and so should you be.

Tracy is celebrating 15,000 hits. Can you imagine?! She will put together a package of papers, stamped images and all sorts of embellishments. Don't miss out.

For those of you that live in the US or Canada here's a tip. embellish-online has some candy for you! As far as I know all you need to do is fill out a form (name and such), lean back and hope for the best.

craftowo is living proof that papercrafting has spread everywhere, even to Poland. Check out her awesome candy, there are a looooooot of stuff there.

Maria from Cata's craft is giving away a wonderful Tilda sewing kit. No, it's not the Magnolia-Tilda, but she's just as cute.

Kali is having a little candy to celebrate 1000 hits. You can win an amazing box she has decorated with Magnolias and she is also enclosing some images and other things. The candy closes dec. 6:th, so you need to hurry.

Carlz will be giving away candy to 4 different winners! And the blocandy is so fabulous. Whichever you win I promise you would be a happy stamper.

Emma has some great Christmascandy. I thought I've grown tired of Christmasstuff, but these are so cute! I'm in need of some fab X-mas papers and these are superb.

Candy for a cause

It's so lovely to see that people are trying to change the world. I just found Heidi's blog. If I had known about this sooner I would've sent her all my cards I gave to charity. Here's what she's writing:

I have a strong desire to do something for someone else............ and give each person that helps me a chance to win some goodies! Honestly, don't you always feel bettter after you have done something that you know will make someone else smile? I know I do! So here is what I want to do- we have a local Ronald McDonald's House that is affiliated with the University of Michigan. I feel blessed that I have healthy children as I honestly do not know how those parents can do it. RMH is home to many sick children and their parents while their little ones are inpatient or getting treatment of all sorts. I want to collect cards for them to send out, I am looking for general cards such as Thinking of You, You make me smile, Thank you, I am there for you, Friendship ......... anything you think that they would use.
My goal is 100 cards- so please help me reach that goal!

Polka dot crazy + followers

EDITED: I have fixed better photos of the HM polkadot card.
(This week the prize on house mouse is to be a guestdesigner. I hadn't even read it before I was about to load up my card, lol. I'm so glad the card turned out this good, because now I actually think I might have a chance :) Check out the coloring. I'm so proud. Enjoy!

This week's challenge at the house mouse blog was to use polkadots. I wasn't even sure I had any, but when I started digging I couldn't stop, haha. I'm so annoyed at the scanner though. The card looks gorgeous and the coloring is even better. I'm so happy with the results, but the scanner doesn't do it justice. It scanned the text blurry because there are two brads next to it and then it can't focus on the text. Just that millimeter disrupts it. I miss my old scanner...*sob*. I'll photograph the card as soon as I can, so come back in a few days to see how nice it really is :)

As I'm sure you've noticed I've started to enjoy the house mouse again. This image took forever to color, so maybe I won't do those big images every time, but it sure was fun. I'm running out of HM images though. I don't have that many stamps, so hopefully there will be an image swap on my HM group soon.

Late yesterday I noticed I got my first follower and this morning I had two more! And I didn't even have to bribe them or anything. I'm so amazed and happy about it! Thank you girls for being my followers, you made my day!

Last day to join the bootifulstampz blogcandy. I think I will have to surrender. It seems like the more entries or opportunities to win the less I win. I mean I got picked out of 1500, but didn't out of 5. Go figure.
