Instructables

Have you seen this site called instructables? It's a site where you can read and post your own tutorials. I found two tutorials I have tried and many more I want to try later. They are sooo close to being done, but not quite. One of them I had to remake a bit because the pattern was for a smaller sized item...Aren't you just too curious what I'm up to? ;)

I also put up my own instructions, the DVD giftbox tutorial I made for Christmas. If you want to see it you can do that here:

PB blogoversary and other challenges

Penny Black saturday challenge are celebrating their one year blogoversary on saturday. The theme is "celebrations" and there are a lot of great prizes to win :)

I have made a card that took forever. It just didn't want to get done. I also wanted to incorporate as many challenges as I could and I think I managed to get 4 or 5 in there.

I used a sketch that was quite hard to work with. It's from papertake weekly. They are having a guest DT spot and I just had to apply :)

Stamp with fun had "dots" for their challenge and I thought it was so perfect when I found this Penny Black stamp in my stash. I also wanted to get a colourscheme and got it from the promarker challenge blog. I used the challenge for 21/07 - Lime Green & Rose Pink. Isn't it just perfect for the frog?

I'm also applying for this weeks everybody art challenge. The theme was "happy birthday". They also have a guest DT spot available. I'm hoping to join. And even though this might not be my best work I think it's quite different with the cut out text and presents.
And finally I actually could join cute card thursday too. Their theme was "tag".

I thought the card was disastrous in the beginning but as I worked on it it turned out perfectly fine. I especially like the glitter I added on the ribbon at the end. Glitter makes everything beautiful, am I right? ;)

LOL, I got a tip that I could use this card for the Simon says stamp challenge. I'm a bit confused about the rules on this blog, it says: "please do not link creations that have been posted prior to the day the of the current challenge." Does it mean I shouldn't use a card that's posted before they announce their challenge or I can't post until the last day of the challenge? I'm a bit confused here. Anyhow, I'm linking this card too :)

So how many challanges was that, lol.
It was quite fun, but I don't think I will be doing it too often. I like making one card for each challenge (unless it's a sketch or colour combo). I think too much about the challanges instead of the card itself.

Three challenges in one

Now I finally have a card to show you. I wanted to join the stampchallenges and since they had a sketch I thought I'd pick up a colourscheme from the promarker challenge blog and a theme from roses on paper.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

The colorscheme I used from the promarker blog was poppy red and moss green which will be the challenge 30:th of june. They have a list of future colours on their blogs if you want a head start.

The roses on paper challenge was to join another challenge and use flowers (+ one of their stamps, I chose Magnolia).

The swing and the girl I got from Sharon. You can see on the last pic that she stamped the images on a shimmery paper. I didn't even notice it until I was done colouring, lol. It didn't show in daylight, but did a lot in my lamplight (bottom pic).

I turned the sketch 90 degrees. I put the girl a little tilted on the swing because I wanted the square of the swing to show. I also wanted it to look like she was leaning on one of the ropes. I added gold glitterglue to the middle of the flowers.
I was quite ambivalent towards the card in the beginning, but now I quite like it.

And finally I want to tell you that I'm applying to Belles 'n Whistles Guest Design Team member call with this card. Keep your fingers crossed ;)

Shimmerz birthday bloghop

Not so much happening here I know. That's because I'm crafting like crazy! I have been sewing a lot, but I'm out of wadding so I can't really show you anything. I'll see if I can go by the sewingstore next week and get some characters done. I'm working on a big-boned angel and a seahorse among other things.

While waiting for me to get my bum out of the wagon and get my candy together you can always take a look around my etsy shop :) or bloghop with shimmerz paints. I'm also updating my candypost almost daily for new blogcandies.

I have at least one card to make this week, so I promise you will get some pics soon. Until then - enjoy the summer and crafting!

My new shoes

Doesn't really have to do anything with crafts, but I had to show you my latest shoes. I have extremely sensitive feet and even get blisters from sneakers, so I can't buy any shoes I like. I have to choose very carefully. I dare to say that I buy every shoe that is comfortable. Do you know how many shoes per year that is? About one or two pairs...

I saw these wonderful fushia suede ones and had to try them on. And despite being quite high they were comfortable (if you can say that about those kind of shoes, lol)
I wanted to wear them for my cousin's graduation, but it was raining and we had about 6 degrees Celsius. Yes, freezing, I know. Not sure where to wear these shoes now, but I just can't take them back :) Aren't they just too pretty? I don't have any real "sex and the city" shoes since I don't wear high heels, but these I just have to keep.

After the extreme rainy weather we've been having I decided to buy a pair of rainboots. I'm always running around in my sneakers and my feet get wet. I searched the whole town for my size, but they were out. When I went to Stockholm to my cousin's graduation I found my size! Finally I won't have to walk around with wet feet :) They are so cute with purple roses - they match my rainjacket perfectly. Hey, maybe this post has something to do with crafts? Pretty flowers, matching colours...Hmmm?
