Lilac Christmas

Today I've been playing with the amazing new stamp from sweetpea stamps. I woke up today with a craving - there's no better word for it - to craft! I have a huge DT package with stamps that are hinting to me to be inked so who am I to refuse? Of course I needed to join some challenges, I went through my growing challenge list and here's what I came up with with the card:

fridaysketchers had a wonderful sketch this week that suited perfectly with this stamp. I really wanted the image to be the focalpoint and the sketch allowed that. I used my brand new spellbinder snowflakes instead of the circles.

stampin for the weekend had a lilac/silver colourscheme. I only coloured half of the image to give it a different look. The image speaks for itself and I like that you can see how it looks before and after colouring. As usual I used my promarkers and white twinkling H2O for the flakes and details.

By the cute and girly had "winter wonderland" as their theme.

Creatalicious had "something for Christmas including snowflakes and lots of sparkle/glitter."

Crafty calendar had "weather" as this month's theme. Thought the snowy weather behind the girl suited the theme wonderfully.

If you are inlove with these stamps as much as I am then you can purchase the newest release at a special price. Lynette - the owner of sweetpea stamps is having a sale that already started and is running through Cyber Monday. If you are a first time customer you will get a free Fantasy Art Collection stamp (Lynette's choice) on orders over $20! So what are you waiting for? Click HERE to go straight to the shop and don't forget to mention me during checkout. Enjoy!

Black friday sales

I have been webshopping like crazy the last few days. I don't know how you shop, but I always need to look through EVERY single page to make sure I don't "need" anything. I did that while shopping at simon says stamp yesterday and checked out with 12 tubes of flowers among other things...a LOT of other things. That's about 60 in each one, lol. Let's just say I qualified for the free shipping on international orders. They have that at $150...Funny thing is that I read that and thought to myself:"$150! Does anyone come up to those amounts?!I guess maybe when several people join in on the order" LOL OR maybe it's people who just got out of the hospital and are happy to be alive and crafting. I ordered some Whiff of joys since it's better for me to buy them from the US than directly from the Whiff of joy shop due to the exchange rates. Feels weird.

Today I shopped at a new place called a cherry on top. I found them while looking for a paperset I found at someone's blog. I loved the papers she used in her project and googled it since I've never heard of the company. It's from we R memory keepers and the set is called Tiffany's. Just the right style and colours for me. So spot on! So they had a lot of specials, I even got a discount on shipping. One of the specials was to buy a 4x8" qk alphabet for only $10. I had it in my basket but after looking through their page a couple of hours it disappeared (out of stock) Oh well, I got tons of goodies. I'm really looking forward to that box (yes it was another box...do I hear a candy coming up? I think so...)

Other companies that have sales are Queen kat designs, sweetpea stamps and Whiff of joy. If you "need" something you should take part of the deals :)

Sweetpea stamps are having a sale on some of the beautiful fairystamps. Check them out and make sure you mention me during checkout :)

Queen kat designs - 20% off Queen Kat Design Stamps 20% off the Supplies Category. Good through november 30:th.

Whiff of joy - 20% off winterstamps. Until december, but who dares to wait?

A cherry on top - everything 10%-70% off. Good thru midnite, Sunday, Nov 29. [all times EST] Check out their Thanksgiving sale for more info and offers. Must use code: "THANKS".

Simon says stamp - everything 15% off with coupon "bf15". Ends friday at midnight.

Scrapyland - the best place to buy all your dies. The only place I've been buying dies (and now Michelle's, see below). Superdeals right now.

Michelles scrap - a tiny little store, but even better prices. If you're looking for great deals on nesties, Magnolias or Basic Greys that's the place to look. She also has a cute stampline of her own. Make sure to mention I sent you. Until the end of the month she has a 10% off everything in her store using code "10percent".

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I can't wait to get all the goodies I ordered. It's going to be a crafty Christmas...

New challenge blog and candy

There will be a new norwegian/english challenge blog every sunday called sketchy colors. It's open for everyone and it's in both english and norwegian, so no excuses ;) The only scare would be the talented DT. I know some norwegian cardmakers and they are crazy talented!
The name of the blog is because it will mainly consist of sketch and colour challenges.

I think that's great because it's a bit scarse with challenges on sundays. The first challenge starts at 29th of November, at 9 am – their time, which is 4am at the earliest in the US. For those of you that live there, let's just say a new challenge will be up by the time you get up. Kind of like Christamsmorning, lol.

To welcome everyone the "leaders" are offering a candy. Go to the blog to read all about it. The winners will be announced saturday the 28th of November at 9pm – our time!

New sweetpea stamps and referral program

I've been playing with the new stamps from plate 23 (above) from sweetpea stamps. I just couldn't stay away from ink and rubber yesterday, lol.
So much has happened with sweetpea while I was gone. The shop got a new look, the DT team got a new logo to put in the sidebar (I just haven't figured out how to put it up yet), tons of new stamps have come out and so much more. There is also a referral program where the DT members can earn rubber$ if they send people over to shop. So when you shop make sure to mention me when you check out. You need to write my full name (Katarina Maserak) and e-mailaddress (under my profile) All details here. Thank you.

There is a sale going on at the moment, so don't miss out! If you haven't seen the new fairystamps from the talented ching-chou kuik go and check it out. I love these stamps - there are a delight to colour. Here's one of the new stamps I got in my DT package. Isn't she a beauty?

There is also a challenge going on on the blog. When you've gotten your stamps make sure to join! You need to e-mail your entry before dec. 12:th to be in a chance of winning a $5 giftcard. You can enter as many times as you like. All details in the sidebar of the sweetpea blog.

Ok, on to my bookmark project. I've been playing with my distress inks. I really like the look Tim Holtz makes on his Christmas tags. Even if I follow him step by step I can't figure out how he does it! At least I had fun yesterday even if it didn't turn out like his.

I used broken china (blue) around the edges, sprayed with water and dried with my heating gun. Then I inked a swirlstap with green peeled paint and stamped a couple of times on the side. I sprayed with water again and let it bleed a little before I heat-set it. I inked up the girlstamp with black ink and stamped on the bottom of the bookmark. I coloured it slightly on the edges with my promarkers. Finally I inked the sentiment with versamark and stamped three times on the top. I stamped it so the whole text could be read. I then brushed some red pearl-ex over it to add that shine.

Back home

I'm back home from the hospital now. Nothing unusual was found, the doctors can't explain why I'm in pain, I got painkillers, end of story.

Moving on...

I got TONS of new "toys" while I was gone. Here's my fun list to play with:

*7-8 house mouse
*8 or so sugar nellies
*1 magnolia parrot
*one big box of craft goodies, some chipboard albums, stickles, stamps, nesties etc.
*three bags of sale items from my local shop (what do you mean? I HAD to help them empty the store before the move)
*two sheet of sweetpea stamps

Ironically enoough I don't feel like making cards, lol. I'm into sewing and jewelrymaking right now. Yesterday I finished a project for a friend - can't show it yet since she might be lurking around here. During the weekend I finished 2,5 sets of earrings. I got an order for a pair of those angelearrings that I auctioned out. My first jewelrysale! Woohooo!

I'm not even close to be fit for fight, but whenever I can I try to craft a bit. I'm trying to take it easy, but I miss not showing you my projects. I'll be back - it might be a bit more seldom in the beginning, but I'll be back :)

P,S. I got a great Amy Butler bag pattern. I know just which fabrics to use. Just need to figure out the pattern. Haven't yet, lol. Maybe I should try to do it my way and see if it makes sense...hmmm....I'll let you know how "my way" turns out.
