I've been so mad because I just missed a challenge where there were Magnolia's up for grabs. I'm currently looking to get one and it feels like this one just passed me by. If you made a card you got two chances. I did the card, but missed the deadline. With all the American timezones I thought I had more time. When I got there it was over because it was european time. Sigh! Hate when these things happen.
But I did manage to send in two cards to a sketchcontest. I wanted to make one more, but I couldn't find the stamp I needed. It just vanished. I also managed to break one of my more usable tools, so I'm totally pooped and annoyed right now. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.
Have a great Halloween-night! I'm going to sleep, grrr.

Blog candy
Ok, so I thought the previous would be the last, but I found one more. Not sure when it ends though, so I'm writing about it straight away. The only thing she said is that she will pick a winner on the 10:th of november.

Dawn has gotten over 20,000 hits on her blog and is spontaniously decided to give away some blogcandy. Congrats Dawn. I hope to get that many hits too someday (hopefully within a decade, lol)
The thing you have to do to enter her blogcandy is to take a photo of your scraproom/corner and put it on your blog. You can find all the details on her blog:

I found some pics of my corner. It starts out good and then it gets messier and messier, lol. Maybe I should've just shown the first pic. I don't think I've had it this organized for at least a year. I usually just put away the main stuff.
I would love to do something creative with this white wall. I've been thinking about putting up pics and a memoryboard, but the wall is of concrete and I don't want to drill in it too much. I have been thinking about putting up a big piece of wood and then drilling into that whenever I want to put something up. I'm not sure how to do it though and what piece of wood I would need.
This is the two bookshelves behind me where I keep papers, stickers, magazines, UM's, jewelryitems, sewingmachine and a bunch of other things.
Here's my super piece of furniture that holds my woodmounted stamps. I used to have qk and cuttlebugstuff there too, but after my 60+ Penny Black collection I needed more space. On top I have my big cuttingtool.
It holds three layers of stamps and I have them sorted in: winter Penny Blacks, all year Penny Blacks, HM's and a few Suzy's zoo, big stamps like backgrounds, small stamps and finally those that I haven't had time to stamp up yet. Because I stamp up every new stamp I get into a little folder I have sorted in categories. Lately I've had so many stamps I haven't had the time to do that, so they have a drawer of their own.

Just a quick note
I have a bunch of challenges I need to finish, some by tomorrow and some by friday so I'll be breef. I've tried to make a card for a sketchchallenge, but the proportions make the card very hard to make. It's too much stuff, lol. They don't call it a challenge for nothing, sigh.
Today I was in town and I bought a couple of jewelryitems. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more beads unless I finished something with the last ones I bought and I've actually kept that promise. I have made a pair of earrings and they even photographed quite nicely. Now I just need to put them out on etsy.
I was also in my local scrapshop looking for traditional Christmaspapers, but they didn't have any. I've noticed it's scarce with that around here. They did however have a magnificent silver and gold promarker pen that I just have to have! But I restrained myself :) I don't like impulseshopping, unless it's something I know I can't get cheaper anywhere else. Because let's face it, we all want the best deal possible.
I did however buy a pack of patterned papers at my local foodshop. Occasionally they have different items and this was one of them. I like the colors a lot and I think they will be perfect for summercards. They are 12x12" and there is 5 of each color/pattern, so I will probably tire of them before they run out, lol. It's not specified if they are acidfree, but it doesn't matter to me since I mostly make cards.

Cards for soldiers
I managed to make five cards for the soldiers I talked about earlier. My plan was to design one card and then duplicate it a couple of times. I was being realistic and limited myself to making a total of 5 of the same card. Do I need to say I got bored after/during the second one? LOL. So I let myself continue with whatever Christmascard I wanted and if I wouldn't make it on time it would be fine - at least I had two. But as I let myself do whatever I wanted I realized that the idea I had at first was really good and I continued making cards in the same style, but with different pre-colored images and embossed patterns. In the end I sent five cards that I was very happy with.
I wanted to make white cards, thinking of peace, but I didn't have any images of doves. I did however have beautiful white embossed cards and a couple of angelstamps. The thing I really wanted when thinking about these cards was that I wanted the soldiers to be able to personalize the cards. I gave up that idea, but while I was making the cards and putting tabs on them (so to speak ;) I realized that if I left them blank then the soldiers could personalize them that way. (Besides, I didn't have any good word/textstamp for the tabs). Ok, here's what I came up with in the right order:

My prize
Remember I told you earlier about a contest I managed to win? It was a lottery and my name got picket out of 1500 cards! Here are the stamps I won, nicely delivered in organzabags. I really like the tree/birdstamp. Think it would go nicely with either chalks or a multicolored pad.
Speaking of pads: I was playing around with my Kaleidacolor one yesterday. There is a little piece of plastic that stands out when you're trying to rub the pad directly onto paper. I started fiddling around with it and noticed that the little pads of different colors could be shoved together to leave one pad without spaces. Haha, I've had this pad for at least a year and didn't figure out how it worked until yesterday. I used to just dab the stamp back and forth to cover the spaces :D You learn something new every day, even about your craftstuff.
The stamps are from unitystamp
Unfortunately there was no teddyconvention for us yesterday. We were both feeling bad and it was raining cats and dogs so we stayed home instead.

Dress up mice
I've made a card using one of the cutest Halloweenstamps ever - the house mouse mice dressed up in costumes. So adorable! The paper is some old line from Basic Grey I managed to get on sale, the ribbon is white organza that I colored in myself and the text is a sticker I've had for ages. I love the way the mice pop out being so colorful and all.
Amazingly enough my scanner wanted to play and came up with this scan that I think is pretty accurate. The camera doesn't really get the right colors so it's nice to be able to show the card how it really looks.
Oh, the card is for a challenge at aspoonfullofsugar. Keep your fingers crossed :)
