Easter swap project

I'm still recovering from the stomachflu I got after easter. I'm getting tired fast and still feel a bit weak from time to time, but I'm getting stronger every day. I haven't had the energy to do any project (because I have to clean up my space first, lol) but I've been colouring a bit out on the balcony in the wonderful sunshine we've been having.

Since I don't want you to totally grow tired of me (I know how boring it is to check blogs that are never updated) I thought I'd show you what I made for my secret easter swap person.

I sew two birds and a birdhouse from the latest Tilda Finnanger book. I wanted to make the birds "lovebirds" and the house to be their lovehouse. I used fabrics and colours that would match. I made one bird red with turquoise details and the other one turquoise with red details. And finally the house an even mix of both.

I used beads so you can hang the birds and house and I also attached metalwire to the base of the birds so they can be assembled on a birdhouse for instance. The wire can be easily pulled out. I also managed to find some metal charms:
key+lock=LOVE
bird+bird=lovehouse

I thought the gift was quite thought through even if it wasn't the most advanced one. But concidering this was my first stuffed animal project I think I did quite well. Now I'm off colouring some more and hopefully joining some challenges. Hope you'll come back ;)

Hi Katarina,

Sorry to hear that you've not been well and hope that you will be back to full health soon.

Your birds and the birdhouse are really lovely, especially made in the Tilda fabric - I hope your recipient was pleased with her gift!

Love Julia :0)
